One run was the difference at Wrigley Field as the Bridge City River Bats
defeated the Riverton Raptors 3 to 2.
Chad Billingsley(1-0) was in control of the game from the outset. He allowed
only 4 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 1/3 innings. Billingsley racked up 9
strikeouts. Riverton threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Mariano Rivera recorded the save, his 1st. Chris Sampson(0-1) suffered the
loss. 'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us tonight' Thomas
Fischer said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard
to take.'
