The Riverton Raptors nipped the Hillsboro Raiders 4 to 3 at Jacobs Field in a
hard fought contest.
 
Riverton came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning scoring 3
runs utilizing 3 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Derek Jeter got
things going when he drew a walk.  Rick Ankiel next to the plate and he
singled.  Jonathan Broxton then was wild with a pitch.  J.D. Drew was up next
and he lined a base-hit.  Albert Pujols stepped into the box and stroked a
single.  After another out, Jose Valverde stepped in and he threw a high and
inside pitch that got by the catcher; it was ruled a passed ball.  Both teams
ended up with 7 hits on the afternoon.  
 
The victory went to Brandon Webb(2-0) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3
runs. Takashi Saito recorded his 3rd save.  Broxton(0-1) was charged with the
loss in relief.
