40,078 fans watched an exciting game at Busch Stadium. The Riverton Raptors
topped the Montrose Millers by the slimmest of margins, 9 to 8.
Riverton scored the deciding run in the 8th inning. After two were out Rick
Ankiel banged out a single. J.D. Drew next to the plate and he doubled.
Albert Pujols then drew a walk. Jack Cust stepped in and he drew a walk to
load the bases. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.
The victory went to Brad Ziegler(2-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Matt Lindstrom(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 3
innings allowing 3 hits and 5 walks.
