Right fielder J.D. Drew had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Riverton Raptors defeated
the Albany Stallions 14 to 7 at Chase Field.
 
Drew really lit it up for Riverton.  The Albany fans let him have it for what
he did to their boys.  He tripled scoring a run in the 1st inning, doubled in
the 3rd inning, doubled which scored a run in the 5th inning and doubled
plating two runs in the 8th inning.  Albany was not lacking for run support
as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed
to forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames.  
 
Chris Sampson(2-4) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Hiroki
Kuroda(2-3) suffered the loss.  He allowed Riverton 5 runs in 4 and 1/3
innings of work.  
 
'It's just about getting in a good hitting position and just going out there
and being prepared,' Drew said. 'You try to hit in your own capacity and not
do too much. I just try to have a good approach, day after day, game by game,
and pitch by pitch.'
