Left fielder Rick Ankiel went yard and had 2 RBI as the Riverton Raptors
topped the Watersedge Wallbangers by a score of 9 to 5 at US Cellular
Field.
Riverton came up with 6 runs in the 7th inning when they had 7 base hits. The
big moment was provided by Scott Rolen who deflated the spirits of the home
town crowd when he belted a three-run homer (his 6th of the season).
Riverton had 15 hits overall, while Watersedge had 10.
Taylor Buchholz(2-1) allowed no runs in 3 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Matt Thornton(5-4) suffered the loss in relief. He served up 3
gopher balls in 1/3 of an inning.
