Field.
Las Vegas wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning as they scored

Ledezma(2-0) looked very much in control throughout the night. He gave up

while Watersedge had 3.
Jason Motte got the save, his 1st. Mike Pelfrey(14-14) was the losing
pitcher. He was knocked around by Las Vegas, allowing 13 hits and 3 walks in

Ledezma, when asked about his 13 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?

At US Cellular Field the sizzling Las Vegas Godfathers easily handled the
Watersedge Wallbangers in 10 innings by the score of 8 to 4.
The score was tied at 4 after nine. Las Vegas won the game in the 10th
inning. The critical plate appearance was by Luis Rodriguez who helped quiet
the crowd when he doubled scoring two baserunners. The game was a wild
affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.
The victory was credited to Jason Motte(2-0) who went 2 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Joe Blanton(11-10) was given the loss. He was touched for
14 hits and 6 walks in 9 innings.
With the win, Las Vegas continued their winning ways; their streak now stands
at 9 games and counting. Bill Severn was very irritated after the contest.

Varitek had a big day with his bat. He laced a base-hit resulting in a run in

a two-run homer (his 17th of the season) in the 5th inning. Las Vegas
finished with 16 hits while Watersedge ended up with 9.

One run was the difference at Turner Field as the red-hot Las Vegas Godfathers
scored 4 runs in the 5th inning and defeated the Gary Steelers 4 to 3.
Las Vegas scored all of the necessary runs in the 5th inning as they scored 4
runs on 3 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Ryan Raburn who
silenced the crowd when he cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 1st
of the season). Gary threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
R.A. Dickey(1-0) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Fernando
Rodney recorded his 2nd save. Justin Duchscherer(11-6) was tagged with the
loss. He allowed just 5 hits and no walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
No one has been able to stop Las Vegas lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 7 games. 'It seems we can't lose these days', Dan Nixon volunteered
after the game. Then after a moment to reflect he lamented, 'Oh great! Now
I've gone and jinxed us!'

In a two run game the Las Vegas Godfathers got by the Gary Steelers in 10
innings by the score of 6 to 4.
The score was tied at 4 after nine. Las Vegas won the game in the 10th
inning. Randy Winn led off and he stroked a single. After an out was
recorded, Nick Markakis stepped in and he laced a base-knock. Matt Kemp then
lined a single. Joey Votto followed and he hit a sacrifice fly. A wild and
woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.
The win went to Jason Motte(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Las Vegas scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning scoring 5 runners on 4
hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Winn who silenced the stadium

First baseman Prince Fielder blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Joe Nathan
quieted any hopes that Riverton may have had of a comeback as the 10,000
Lakes Lakers defeated the Riverton Raptors by a score of 11 to 8 at Camden
Yards.
Fielder had a big evening at the plate. He smashed a two-run homer in the 5th
inning and lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 37th of the
season) in the 6th inning. Despite scoring in 5 separate innings, Riverton
could not get the win.
The win went to Dana Eveland(7-2) who allowed 8 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Nathan was credited with his 25th save. John Smoltz(0-1) took the loss. He
allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 7 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3
innings.
