Jason Varitek connected with a 'big fly' and had 5 RBI as the blistering-hot
Las Vegas Godfathers destroyed the Watersedge Wallbangers by a score of 13 to
3 at US Cellular Field.
 
Varitek had a big day with his bat.  He laced a base-hit resulting in a run in
the 2nd inning, doubled scoring two baserunners in the 3rd inning and smashed
a two-run homer (his 17th of the season) in the 5th inning.  Las Vegas
finished with 16 hits while Watersedge ended up with 9.  
 
Andy Sonnanstine(11-13) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the
victory. Randy Johnson(10-8) was the losing pitcher.  He was knocked around
pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.  
 
No one has been able to stop Las Vegas lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 8 games.
