Shortstop Derek Jeter had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Coors Field where the Riverton
Raptors beat the Vermont Lake Monsters 15 to 13.

Vermont fell behind quickly as the Riverton offense came through in the first
inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Jeter kicked off the action
when he slapped a base-hit. Ryan Langerhans was next and he laced a one-base
hit. Torii Hunter then drew a walk to load the bases. Albert Pujols
followed and he lined a single. Jack Cust got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. Steve Holm added to the rally and drew a
walk to load the bases. Geoff Blum stepped up to the plate and he hit a deep
fly. Riverton kept the scorekeepers busy in the 5th inning with 7 runs on 8
hits. Vermont made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the
needed runs across.

The victory went to Brandon Webb(16-8) who went 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing 6
runs. The loss was charged to Mike Hampton(1-3). He got hit hard, allowing
17 hits and 6 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

In a close game it was the incredible Riverton Raptors 5, the Vermont Lake
Monsters 3 at Coors Field.

Riverton jumped on top of Vermont in the 7th inning scoring one runner on 3
hits. Riverton had 11 hits for the night.

The victory went to Cliff Lee(8-13) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs. Lee
got relief help from Doug Brocail who gained credit for his 3rd save. Max
Scherzer(5-1) took the loss.

Jayson Werth smacked 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Vermont Lake Monsters
ballclub embarrassed the Riverton Raptors by the count of 17 to 4.

Werth had a great evening at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every
move. He delivered a solo blast in the 1st inning, smashed a two-run homer
in the 4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning and cracked a two-run shot (his
18th of the season) in the 7th inning. Vermont kept the scorekeepers busy in
the 4th inning with 4 runs on 4 hits and the 6th inning with 5 runs on 5
hits. The Vermont offense man-handled the Riverton pitching staff as they
scored in 7 of the 9 innings.

Roy Halladay(13-10) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory.
Andy Pettitte(5-7) absorbed the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 4 and 1/3
innings of work.

Javier Vazquez whiffed 10 batters at AT&T Park where the Richmond Mudcats beat
the Riverton Raptors by the score of 2 to 1.

Vazquez(9-12) gave Richmond a solid outing. He went 7 innings surrendering 9
hits and 1 walk. After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.

Vazquez was helped out by Joakim Soria who recorded his 22nd save. Ryan
Dempster(18-3) took the loss. 'Everything felt great' Vazquez said. 'I had a
good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'

Ryan Braun blasted a homerun and had 5 RBI at AT&T Park as the Richmond
Mudcats beat the Riverton Raptors in 19 innings by the count of 10 to 9.

The game was deadlocked at 9 after nine full innings. Richmond was victorious
in the 19th inning. Chris Iannetta tripled. Edwin Encarnacion stepped up
next and he slapped a base-hit giving Richmond the win and sending the home
town fans into a frenzy. Richmond bats were very productive in the 5th
inning with 3 runs on 4 hits and the 6th inning which saw them plate 3 runs
on 4 hits. Richmond had 24 hits for the game and Riverton had 13.

The win went to Mark Lowe(2-0) who allowed no runs in 4 innings. Takashi
Saito(2-3) was given the loss in relief.

Homestead went ahead for good in the 2nd inning scoring one runner utilizing 2
base hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Santana(11-9) and
Homestead. That was all the run support Santana required. Homestead out-hit
Riverton for the game, 10 hits to 3.

One run was the difference at Turner Field as the Riverton Raptors offense put
up 6 runs on the scoreboard in the 8th inning and defeated the Gary Steelers
in 10 innings 7 to 6.

The score was tied at 6 after nine. Riverton ended up winning it in the 10th
inning. After an out was recorded, Torii Hunter drew a walk. Ryan
Langerhans stepped up next and he was hit by a pitch. One out later, Raul
Chavez came up and he banged out a single to load the bases. Grant Balfour
then let a pitch get away from him. Derek Jeter came to the plate and was
walked intentionally to load the bases. Riverton and Gary each finished the
night with 11 hits.

The win was credited to Brad Ziegler(5-4) who went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing
1 run. Eddie Guardado earned his 1st save. Chad Durbin(0-4) took the loss in
